Thesis Title: Estimating Soil Moisture Using Real-Time Weather Data

Paul Bullock

About

Soil is the basis of all living things. Without it there certainly can't be any life. My passion for studying soil came as a purposeful determination to contribute to global food security through in-depth knowledge of the environment around us.

Some people call it 'dirt' but SOIL is not dirt! It has a living component in it. Soil Science is a multi-facet discipline with branches in soil pedology, soil chemistry and chemodynamics, soil physics, soil microbiology and ecology, soil physics, soil agrometeorology, soil fertility etc.

As a research scientist, my interest is in soil physics and meteorology, with special focus on the modeling soil moisture for irrigation scheduling as well as its influence on flooding.
