Recently completed a SSHRC-funded postdoctoral research-creation project "Beyond the Desert of the Real: Regenerative Narratives in the Cityscape"
Dissertation: Saving Metropolis: Body and City in the "Metropolis" Tales (McGill, 2009)
I'm interested in making connections between representations of the city, their social and political contexts, and the material and experiential realities of urban life. I explore this through academic writing and creative work. I do film and other visual art, as well as architectural and urban design projects. In design, I'm especially interested in urban landscape and, as is so common where I live, hybrids of urban and rural environments.
